Blaise also records and performs with other artists as a violinist. Expect to hear a variety of original tunes on acoustic guitar,

7-8:30PM Suburban Folk with John and Sheila Ludgate - John’s award-winning songs and Sheila’s harmony vocals combine to make this folk duo fantastic.

8:30 to 10:30 PM Getting into the Groove with the Brian Hayman Quartet– Come listen to some swinging interpretations of the Great American Songbook, from George Gershwin to Henry Mancini, from Duke Ellington to Johnny Mercer, from Cole Porter to Jerome Kern. The quartet is Brian Hayman on piano, plus friends on bass, drums and horn.

Learn portrait techniques, the effects of different types of watercolor paper and brushes.
Learn to capture an individual's personality and
circumstance, whether it be joy, sorrow, or peaceful reflection.
Understanding portrait backgrounds, editing
and simplifying subjects will also be addressed.
In this workshop students will work primarily from photos, sketches as well as imagination.

Watercolour Demonstration with Atanur Dogan – The artwork of Atanur and Asuman Dogan is currently on display at CJ’s


Atanur Dogan a Turkish-Canadian watercolour artist. He is a graduate of the Fine Arts program at the Dokuz Eylul University in Buca, Izmir,
where he specialised in watercolour and sculpture.

Atanur has travelled throughout Turkey spending a considerable amount of time in small Anatolian towns and villages. His work captures the daily
life of ordinary people going about their tasks or idling in the heat of the day. His figures have a great strength and sense of poetry, reflecting an
uncomplicated existence, structured only by the demands of a more traditional way of life. He is well travelled and has painted subjects from a
variety of cultures and peoples, worldwide.

Music After Eight with Janice R Moro

Singer/Songwriter Janice R. Moro brings an evocative
mix of country, folkrock and gospel music to the Canadian music scene. Classically trained and a graduate of UBC's music program, Janice grew up immersed in a wide range of choral, instrumental and vocal music idioms. Janice's earliest introduction to music was through classical piano. She was brought up singing in church choirs and her joy of singing eventually led to her vocal studies at UBC. A wide variety of musical experience has recently led to her truest passion; creating and performing her own music. Having lived from coast to coast in Canada, Janice currently resides in Oakville, ON. She is actively engaged in the community raising her two children, doing music and fundraising within the not-for-profit sector in the areas of education; homelessness; foster children; and families facing
poverty both locally and globally.
